Helping parents choose the best school for their child
Andréa Hedin (M) questioned City Commissioner for Education, Emilia Bjuggren (S), about the red-green executive's plan for an information campaign to direct more children to municipal schools. Hedin inquired about costs, directives for preschools, how marketing could improve academic results, and evaluation methods. Bjuggren responded that the right to choose a school has not been restricted and the education administration will not engage in whitewashing ad campaigns. However, the administration will undertake targeted communication efforts during school choice periods to encourage more guardians to attend information meetings about municipal schools and to strengthen collaboration between schools and preschools, aiming to ensure guardians have the necessary information for an informed school choice.
