School social media limits and study environment
Moderate municipal council member Andréa Hedin has questioned School Commissioner Emilia Bjuggren (S) regarding the slow implementation of social media restrictions on school devices and why access might differ or be unrestricted outside class hours. Bjuggren responded that a filter for social media and inappropriate websites on school computers and tablets is planned for autumn 2026. While no decision on differentiated access exists, an investigation will consider varying needs between compulsory and upper secondary schools, with the premise that students should not access social media during school hours, and blocking after class will also be explored.
