Köp av negativa utsläpp från Stockholm Exergis BECCS-anläggning

The City Executive Board and the Group Board of Stockholm Stadshus AB propose that the City Council approve an agreement to purchase "negative emissions" from Stockholm Exergi's new facility at Värtaverket. This means Stockholm Stadshus AB will pay up to SEK 120 million annually between 2029 and 2043 to capture and store carbon dioxide under the seabed. The purpose is to help the city achieve its climate goals of becoming climate-positive by 2030 and fossil-free by 2040, by offsetting difficult-to-eliminate emissions.
