Safer youth centers: Improving checks and oversight.

The City Audit has reviewed safety at Stockholm's youth recreation centers, including those in Södermalm. They assess the work as generally good but see room for improvement, particularly regarding the documentation of background checks for new hires and the follow-up with external recreation centers. Södermalm's district council has responded that they will strengthen their work on background checks, child welfare reports, local collaboration with the police and social services, and improve the follow-up of all recreation centers, whether they are run internally or externally.
