Wastewater upgrade plan: Modernizing treatment plants on track
Stockholm Vatten och Avfall (SVOA) has provided a status update on the Stockholm Future Wastewater Treatment (SFA) project. The project, which includes decommissioning Bromma Wastewater Treatment Plant and reconstructing and expanding Henriksdal Wastewater Treatment Plant into one of the world's most modern, is proceeding as planned. The transfer of wastewater from Bromma to Henriksdal is expected in 2028, with Henriksdal fully completed by 2031. The project's total forecast remains within both schedule and budget, despite noted challenges with the work environment in Sickla and certain contractor risks.
