Upgrading Stockholm's Wastewater Treatment for a Cleaner Future
Stockholm's Future Wastewater Treatment (SFA) is a major project to close the Bromma treatment plant and redirect its wastewater to the Henriksdal treatment plant, which is being expanded and modernized to meet new environmental requirements and accommodate a growing population. The project, budgeted at approximately 22.5 billion Swedish kronor, is expected to be fully completed by 2031. Despite previous delays and cost increases due to market conditions and complex work, the project is proceeding according to its revised schedule and budget.
