Improving Elder Care for LGBTQI+ Residents
Liberal Party members proposed that Stockholm investigate the living conditions of elderly LGBTQI+ individuals in elder care, require LGBTQI+ competence in elder care procurements, and offer continuous training to staff on respectful treatment. They argue that elderly LGBTQI+ individuals are particularly vulnerable and may conceal their identity due to fear of discrimination. The City Executive Board proposes responding to the motion by referencing ongoing work with the city's action plan for LGBTQI+ rights and other initiatives aimed at ensuring inclusive elder care, rather than a separate investigation or temporary projects.
