Politician Pension Contribution Increase

The City of Stockholm will adjust pension contributions for elected officials, including politicians and others holding assignments. This means pension contributions will increase from 4.5% to 6% on income up to 7.5 income base amounts, and from 30% to 31.5% on income exceeding that. This change, effective January 1, 2025, aims to align politicians' pensions with those of municipal and regional employees, a development welcomed by Municipal Commissioner Emilia Bjuggren.
