Market Stall Fees: Council Defends New Charges
In November 2025, Stockholm Municipal Council decided to introduce new fees for market stalls, effective from January 2026. Several market traders have appealed this decision, claiming the new fees are unreasonably high and negatively impact their businesses, especially at Kärrtorpstorg. The City Executive Board now proposes that the city contest these appeals in the Administrative Court, arguing that the fees are reasonable and lawful, and based on a zone-division model that considers market location and attractiveness to better reflect usage.
