Stockholm Transport Plan Needs More Funding

The City of Stockholm has responded to the Swedish Transport Administration's proposed national plan for road, rail, and waterway maintenance and expansion from 2026–2037. While welcoming the increased budget of SEK 1,200 billion and the inclusion of several Stockholm projects, the city believes it's insufficient for the region's needs, emphasizing the priority of public transport, cross-connections, and climate goals. The Moderates and Sweden Democrats regret the omission of the Eastern Link, arguing it would reduce congestion, while the Centre Party also calls for improved international access to Arlanda and stronger rail infrastructure.
