Newcomers learn to swim, join clubs.
Hanna Wistrand (L) has proposed that the City of Stockholm investigate how to offer swimming lessons to newly arrived adults, including through collaboration with SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) and local sports clubs, aiming to increase swimming proficiency and facilitate integration into club life. While practical and legal obstacles exist, the administrations view improving swimming skills for new arrivals positively, and the government is working on a proposal where SFI teachers would inform adults where to learn to swim.
